Health Risk Assessment Quizzes Ensure a Healthier You
Many people know to watch their weight, check their blood pressure and make careful eating choices; however, there are also other tests designed to help monitor a person’s overall health. A health risk assessment is a series of quizzes each containing targeted questions to examine a person’s risk of disease susceptibility. Well-known disease and health conditions like diabetes, thyroid, cancer and heart disease can allow users to complete these brief online quizzes, and based on the results, talk to their doctors and incorporate healthy eating and exercise habits.

One of the most common factors detrimental to a healthy and disease-free lifestyle is smoking. No matter what quiz a person takes, being a smoker automatically increases a person’s risk. While it may be difficult to quit, replacing smoke breaks with brief periods of exercise several times a day can actually improve a person’s health and lower their chances of disease vulnerability, as frequent exercise is another area inventoried on a health risk assessment.

A heart disease risk assessment includes questions regarding a person’s BMI (body mass index) and where the person carries his/her excess weight. This is important because while carrying excess weight is bad; having the excess weight located close to a person’s heart is more dangerous than having it lower, at hip-level. Having a family history of heart disease and experiencing high blood pressure yourself automatically increases a person’s risk of predisposition to heart disease. Ways to reduce the chance of getting heart disease are to monitor your weight, maintain blood pressure and cholesterol within acceptable limits, stop smoking and engage in daily exercise. This is in addition to keeping a healthy weight and losing belly fat.

Getting cancer is a huge concern for many people, especially those with a family history of the disease. By taking an online health risk assessment, one can check for other risk factors such as eating habits that can help them make changes for the better and reduce their chances of getting this disease. Making healthy eating choices like eliminating red meat consumption and having at least three or more servings of vegetables a day significantly reduces a person’s vulnerability to the disease and helps combat another risk factor, excessive weight.

Diabetes can strike at any age, but there is a health risk assessment created to help a person know whether he or she is at more risk than others for predisposition to this serious condition. Having a family history of diabetes, being over 40 years of age and having belly fat greatly increases a person’s chances of getting diabetes. Exercising daily, lowering your BMI and not smoking will help lower diabetes risk.

Not as commonly known as other types of conditions, taking a quiz to determine metabolic risk is just as important as other disease conditions. Having a family history of thyroid disease definitely warrants a person to complete a metabolic health risk assessment. Gender is also important, as women are more likely to suffer from a thyroid condition, particularly those who have had a past hysterectomy. Other signs a person may have a thyroid condition include the inability to lose weight on diets while following the diet perfectly, feeling tired and fatigued even after getting a full night’s rest, and having a constant sensation of coldness while others are experiencing warmth. While many of these tell-tale signs can not be prevented, knowing what to look for can help a person inventory his or her day and meet with a doctor to discuss getting tested for thyroid conditions.

With easy online health risk assessment questions, taking the time out to complete these brief quizzes can help save a person’s life by providing valuable insight about various health conditions, their risk factors and how to lower disease susceptibility. Take charge of your health and get on the road to a fitter future by completing one of these life-saving assessments today.
